Meet the Nutrition Team
Carlyn believes that feeling your best starts with good nutrition—but also involves how you think, live and show up for yourself physically and emotionally. Carlyn works to help you uncover the hidden obstacles keeping you from feeling your best and teaches you how to listen and honor your body by focusing on what healthy means to you. Carlyn is a registered dietitian, with a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from NYU. She also obtained her CLC certification from the Healthy Children’s Project. Carlyn is an Associate Dietitian at New York Nutrition Group. Carlyn takes a science-based, personalized approach to health. She believes that everyone is different, and nutrition should also take into account those differences.
Doreen is a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelors degree in Biology from Yeshiva University and a Masters degree in Nutrition Science from Brooklyn College. Prior to joining NY Nutrition Group, Doreen provided medical nutrition therapy to a diverse population with an array of medical conditions at Jacobi Medical Center. At NY Nutrition Group, Doreen tailors each counseling session according to the client’s unique nutritional needs. At the end of the initial consultations, clients can expect to receive recommendations that take into account their medical history, busy schedules and preferences. In addition to a well-balanced diet, Doreen also believes in the importance of managing stress levels and engaging in physical activity for optimal health.
Rachel Lee is a Registered Dietitian who received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from The University of Delaware. She completed her Dietetic internship at the College of Saint Elizabeth, where she also received a Master in Nutrition with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Nutrition Practice. During her internship she was placed at multiple in and out patient clinical facilities and got extensive practice in nutrition education counseling at the Johnson & Johnson corporate wellness center and at Shoprite. Rachel discovered her passion for nutrition when she was a child. She always had a love for cooking, baking and eating. She was also very active, playing field hockey and lacrosse for her high school teams. Learning how to balance diet with exercise is what sparked Rachel’s interest to become a Registered Dietitian. Rachel believes in the true meaning of the word diet: habitual nourishment. She looks at dieting as a lifestyle change rather than a timely restriction. She strives to help her clients learn mindful and intuitive eating so that they can make healthier choices that are sustainable. She also works with each client to personalize a diet plan that is based his or her nutritional needs and the foods they enjoy.
