erin jacques
Erin has been in the fitness industry for over 12 years and received a degree in Exercise Physiology and a Minor in Health Promotion from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. Running cross-country for the college led her to marathon running. Since that time she has competed in 12 marathons including Boston, NYC and Chicago. She has coordinated corporate fitness programs for several companies like HBO, Reebok Sports Club NY, and Compuware, and continues to run a successful private training business, F.I.T. X-press. She is certified in the Pilates Method and taught various types of classes for several years until being awakened by yoga 9 years ago.
Initially interested in the physical and fitness benefits of yoga, Erin focused her work on trying to perfect the postures and external aspects of her practice. However, after years of practicing and teaching various styles of yoga she has discovered the effectiveness of yoga has less to do with the physical postures and more about connecting more intimately within and learning self acceptance while breathing and moving through the challenges. In 2003 Erin completed yoga teacher training with Jonny Kest at the Center for Yoga in Birmingham Michigan. Ashtanga yoga has been the backbone of her teaching; however, the creative flow of Vinyasa yoga is what she has become best known for.
She immediately connected with Core Fusion after taking only one class as she found that it encompassed all her passions: the challenge of fitness, the mental awareness of yoga and the beauty of strength and flexibility. Erin’s teaching creates a strong balance of effort with ease, strength with flexibility and grace with humility.
